Trash to Treasure Saturday Shopping

Saturday is yard sale day!! WooHoo!!
Time to look for someone's trash to turn into my treasure. My alarm woke me at 5:30 am and I immediately jumped up and hurriedly dressed so that I could be on my way.

Wrong!! I hit the snooze button and debated just going back to sleep. My sweet hubby suggested I just stay home and snuggle. It was tempting but the bargain hunter in me won. I made myself get up and head out the door.
I am so glad I did. I found some neat treasures today.

These cushions were 50 cents each. I plan to use them on my front porch next spring.

Total $4.50

These frames were 25 cents a piece. I plan to paint them and use them in my bathroom.

There are 3 of these. They were $1 each. My mil has these in her house. I never noticed them before. After I bought them this morning, I was in her den and saw them. She paid $59 for all three. I got a steal!!

The birdcage and two topiaries were $3. The Snowman welcome sign was 50 cents.
My grand total for the day was $ 11.50

The pillows smelled like a storage building so I packed them in plastic bags with dryer sheets. I will febreeze them and air them out when I unpack them. I spray painted the frames, distressed them a little, and glued ribbons to the backs to hang them. I don't know what I am going to do with the birdcage. The art pieces are going in our newly painted hall bathroom. It is chocolate brown and these look lovely in there. I cleaned the topiaries and spraypainted the base that was pink. It is in my kitchen now. I will try to post some after pictures when I get everything done.
For more trash to treasures, be sure to check out http://thekublers.blogspot.com/2009/10/trash-to-treasures-party-10.html? This is the first time I have posted in the trash to treasures party so I am not sure if I am doing this right.

  4. How funny! I recognize the fabric of those yellow pillows. I had pillows made from the same fabric many years ago. We have similar taste!

  5. Meredith,
That is too funny. I bought these from a lady at our church. She said she had them in her sun room. I think she told me she had these made. Jen Unsell and I discovered we have similar taste as well. That is cool. We are all heart sisters and FIAR sisters.
